The COVID-19 outbreak revealed the functional value of digitalization in public places crisis response tactics. However , digitalization is there are not enough to respond to ongoing threats. Instead, organizations need to seek to turn risks into options through tactical responses. This is why it is important for firms to have energetic capabilities : a combination of functions and resources that enables them to adapt in the face of disruption (George et ing. 2014; Nylen and Holmstrom 2015).

Existing research has shown that digitalization can increase firm’s strong capacities by increasing their capacity to sense the surroundings, to seize opportunities, also to reconfigure assets. Moreover, these capabilities will be critical for firms’ ability to properly manage general population crises. Depending on these results, this article is exploring the relationships between digitalization, dynamic features, and community crisis response strategies through a survey involving 518 SMEs in China. The results present that SMEs with large levels of digitalization have better crisis response performances than those with low-level of digitalization. Further, a qualitative examination suggests that digitalization can help SMEs develop and implement short-term emergency responses and long-term crisis managing approaches.
